TEN Tips for Dealing With Your Divorce:
1.Be discreet about the details of your divorce. Your divorce should not be a topic of discussion with any and everyone.
2.Know your Assets. You should know your assets before and after the marriage.
3.Decide whether your divorce will be contested or uncontested.
4.Decide why you want a divorce (The marriage is irretrievably broken, adultery, cruelty, etc).
5.Gather your documentation. (Proof of income, notes, letters, pictures, assets, financial affidavits, etc).
6. Get a Support System.
7. Do not get violent or abusive.
8.If you are the non-custodial parent or the parent not physically residing with the child while the divorce is pending, stay in contact with your child.
9. If you have children, check to determine if you have to attend a Parenting Seminar before your divorce is finalized.
10. Take time out for yourself.
